Taming the Room
The room itself is the most important component of any audio system. You can install reference-grade monitoring, but if the room is untreated, you are primarily listening to the room's destructive interference, not the speakers.
The Golden Ratios
Before the first panel is hung, the physical dimensions of the room dictate its baseline performance. We adhere to established acoustic ratios (such as the Louden or Sepmeyer ratios) to evenly distribute room modes, preventing massive peaks and nulls in the bass response.
Managing First Reflections
When a speaker fires, sound reaches your ear via a direct path, but it also bounces off the side walls, floor, and ceiling, arriving milliseconds later. These early reflections smear the sonic image and degrade dialogue intelligibility. We utilize broadband absorption at the critical first reflection points to ensure absolute clarity.
RT60 Decay Times
Targeting a reverberation time of 0.2 to 0.3 seconds across the spectrum for a tightly controlled cinema environment.
Baffle Walls
Flush-mounting front LCR speakers into an infinite baffle wall to eliminate boundary interference and increase forward acoustic energy.
